I have been interested in photography since taking a Photography course in high school in 1965 that introduced me to black and white photography. Several years later, having been inspired by the photographs of Ansel Adams, I returned from a long trip to the western United States realizing that photography was going to be my hobby, not a possible profession. Then came the family years, where most of the photographs I took were of the children growing up, with an occasional abstract or nature shot that caught my eye. Once we got them through college, my wife and I started doing a lot of traveling, which presented endless opportunities for taking interesting photographs, and I took a lot of them with an emphasis on nature, abstraction, architecture, and landscapes. My interest in black and white photos resurfaced, and I have been converting many of my favorite shots into this format. I believe I have a decent eye for composition and enjoy sifting through my thousands of photographs to find a few good ones that I can share. My hobby is now keeping me busy during my retirement years.
