Monumentos Vulcânicos
Raw lands... Volcanic sculptures disquiet my mind. Monuments... Monuments to the unknown reality of a deep past. They keep appearing in front of my eyes. Along my path. Emerging… Like visions.

About Artist
Henrique Murta
The Concept I’m a landscape photographer based in Planet Earth. A geologist, and a deep nature observer. A traveler who has been freezing moments for about 15 years. My photography is not much about documenting the real world. Its construction is based on visions. How can the Earth be felt? What can a land change in one’s mind? It’s about impossible landscapes that actually exist. Perspectives and perceptions. It’s also about walking, driving and flying. Shifting lands. Trekking, trekking and trekking. Into the wild. Watching everything from the summit. Heading all the way back to the valley. And my mission is to induce “contemplation state” inside your head. Expose yourself to deep beauty and and let your eyes do the talking. Shift your perspectives. Blow your mind! In a way the “preserve” mantra will echo there till the end of your time. The Trail I was born in Minas Gerais (Brazil): a land where the hills assume shapes of waves in a stormy sea. Deep nature always around. Lots of green and blue. Since the beginning of my time, I have been exploring the powerful Brazilian nature in a very intimate way. My father (Roberto Murta), who happens to be an outstanding wildlife photographer, would show me the profound beauty of life and lands from all perspectives. As a result of my strong affection for nature, I decided to study Earth Sciences. During my graduate and master’s degrees in geology, in addition to falling even more deeply for our Earth, I learned to read its language. My senses became even more aware of nature’s magic. Since I was about 20 years old, I do everything I can to travel around and experience nature on its most varied shapes, colors and temperatures. That became a life goal. And always: a camera in my hands. Little by little, photography become a BIG thing. For more than 10 years, I have been investing obsessively in technical knowledge, composition, equipment and artistic creation. For the last few years, I have been materializing my visions as fine artworks, spreading them throughout walls around our world.
