About Artist
Adrià Goula
Adrià Goula Sardà is an architect (ETSAB 2000) and since 2004 he has been professionally dedicated to architectural photography. His work, generally photographic, revolves around the relationship between human construction and its location in the world, between the artificial, the natural and memory. Through architectural elements, landscapes or traces, he generates images where two-dimensionality and complexity are recurring characteristics. He also reflects on photography as a medium in itself, with the intention of going beyond the photographic window to create images that break in a certain way the perspective effect intrinsic to photography and free it from its anchorage in the here and now. In this project he leaves his comfort zone to explore new formats such as video and installation. His work has been exhibited in galleries in France and Spain, including Paris at Le Salon de Torigny, Bordeaux at l'Atélier Dartois and Barcelona at Kowasa Gallery, The Architecture Gallery (collective), Lab36 by Galeria Senda (collective), Arts Santa Mónica (collective for the Art Photo Barcelona festival), Fundació Felicia Fuster (collective). His work "Re-Edificatoria" was part of the Spanish Pavilion of the Venice Biennale 2016 (Golden Lion Award) and he received the "Bienalba for Photographic Production in Architecture" award at the Buenos Aires Biennial 2017. In 2020 he received the Silver Lux award (with the photograph G4 / C398-409 that can be seen in this exhibition) and the Bronze Lux award in the category of Architecture Photography. This year it has been awarded for the triptych "Aneto" in the photography section of the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BEAU IX 2021).
