About Artist
Peng Zhou
Zhou Peng was born in Shanghai, China 1983. Trained as a painter in his young age, then studied visual art of Chinese traditional theatre at Shanghai Theatre Academy and M.F.A Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design, he lives and works in Atlanta and Shanghai. Peng focuses on exploring multicultural integration and expressing personal sentiments through artworks. His inspirations absorb from Chinese ancient philosophical texts as the basis of creation and apply his understanding of the philosophical concepts of Relativity, Changes, and Harmony to creations. Peng’s artworks are full of intensive personal aesthetics and create a unique art style between abstraction and semi-abstraction. The aesthetic directions of his artworks were profoundly influenced by the principles of Spirit-resonance and Void in Chinese classical painting, and color and composition in Western classical and modern painting, and photography. Peng’s photographs exhibit internationally, as well as awarded the winner of Gold, Silver, Bronze medals, Photographer of the Year and Best of Best Photographer within the International Photography Awards, Tokyo International Foto Awards, Moscow International Foto Awards, Budapest International Foto Awards, Neutral Density Photography Awards, and the London International Creative Competition. His artworks are in permanent collections at Swatch Art Peace Hotel, SCAD (USA & France), and collectors.
