Celardin was born in Izmir,Turkey in 1968. He studied Chemical Engineering at Bogazici University; and holds a master’s degree from UC Davis. He has lived and worked in New York City since 1998. Ceki studied Color Science and took formal photography classes at ICP New York. Celardin has 25 years of experience in the fashion industry. “I have always been fascinated by color. To me, color has an association with words, feelings, and memories…a powerful form of communication. I remember spending hours in the garden as a child, trying to see the actual colors on a butterfly wings. Having a photographic memory and a happy childhood, I am constantly filled with nostalgia.” Ceki is curious about the world around him, finding inspiration in architecture, decorative arts, fashion and botany. These interests create an unexpected visual mashup in his photographs. “Being a hopeless romantic at heart, I always look for the implicit in almost everything. Add to all that, an engineering mind set, you get the determined frames.“
