Jose Díaz López is a self-taught documentary photographer from Madrid, Spain, and is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand.
For more than a decade, Jose dedicated himself to helping people with physical exercise and rehabilitation. His careful observations of people interacting with their surroundings unlocked deeper understandings of daily life issues; it also awakened an artistic interest in capturing candid moments. In 2019 he bought a camera and started street photography from scratch.
Years later, he has cultivated a distinctive photographic style, inspired by New Color American Photography and Documentary Photography. Jose’s work infuses an aesthetic that dives into conceptual subjects. His mix of approaches explores abstract topics that reflect his personal experiences rather than traditional documentary shots.
Nowadays, he’s focused on capturing moments around the world and documenting various events for personal projects and commissioned work.
