Luca Casonato after graduating in Building Engineering and specialising in photography, he completed his training as an assistant to the photographer Gabriele Basilico. Alongside his professional activity as a photographer, he is constantly engaged in artistic research aimed at representing the fragmented contemporary landscape and the aesthetics of engineering. In 2023 Luca Casonato with the project “Rosso Sahel” contributes the Pavilion of the Republic of Niger to the 18th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia. In 2019 he was one of the recommended artists from the jury at Premio Combat Prize 2019. In 2017 he wins two mentions at the One Eyeland Awards 2017. In 2014 he wins an honourable mention at the MIFA, Moscow international Foto Awards. In 2012 he wins the 1st place at the IPA, International Photography Awards. He participated to the Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie International Photo Festival. In 2010 his work “Colliders” was awarded the 2nd prize at the Sony World Photography Awards. In 2005 he won an honourable mention at “Netshot”, the photographic-web prize held by the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Cinisello Balsamo, Italy.
