Gotipua

Gotipua is the poetry of devotion woven into movement, where boys, adorned as the divine feminine, transcend their own form to become vessels of grace. In its fluidity lies a truth: the self is not fixed, identity is a dance, and beauty is found in the dissolution of boundaries.

About Artist

Lucas Dragone

Lucas Dragone born in 1981 is an awards wining Photographer. Having studied at the Lassaad International School of Theatre in Brussels, still today Lucas keeps very close ties with Lassaad, who he considers to be one of his life-long mentors. He worked with the Compagnie Barbiana in Belgium as performer, director and teacher. In the past few years, Lucas initiated a project of documenting and capturing various forms of theaters from Asia and around the world through his camera. By doing this, Lucas hopes to contribute to the documentation of theatre forms. The transmission and preservation of traditional theater and dance across cultures is not merely an act of safeguarding art—it is the protection of ancestral memory, the continuation of a dialogue between the past and the present, and a sacred duty to uphold the wisdom encoded in movement, gesture, and story. These art forms are not static relics of history; they are living, breathing entities that evolve even as they retain the echoes of those who came before. To pass them on is to affirm the endurance of identity, the resilience of culture, and the timeless need for humanity to express its deepest truths through the language of the body and soul. In their preservation, we do not simply maintain tradition; we nurture the spirit of an ever-unfolding human experience, ensuring that the poetry of movement and myth continues to resonate across generations.
