Rabab Faisal is a Sudanese award-winning photographer who discovered her passion for photography in 2011. Since then, she has committed her work to capturing human experiences through emotionally resonant and visually powerful storytelling.
In 2012, she co-founded a photography group that grew into a vital space for artistic collaboration. The group focuses on projects that reflect Sudan’s cultural, social, and everyday realities—interpreting them in ways that modernize and preserve Sudanese identity in the 21st century.
Rabab’s photography extends beyond documentation. She uses the medium as a form of social commentary—challenging stereotypes, highlighting underrepresented narratives, and fostering deeper cultural understanding.
Her work has gained international recognition through several prestigious awards. These include a Gold Award at the Gridliners Awards, a Bronze Award and an Honourable Mention from the 2024 Prix de la Photographie de Paris (PX3), Honourable Mentions in both the Minimalist Photography Awards and the Paris International Street Photography Awards (PISPA), and Gold & Silver Awards at the MUSE Photography Awards 2025.
Her photography has been showcased globally at renowned exhibitions, including the 2022 URBANA Photo Awards at the Palmanova Creativa Exhibition in Italy, the PHOTOVISION ART Exhibition at Zappeion Megaron in Athens under the theme Colourful World, and at the URBAN Exhibits during Trieste Photo Days, hosted at ITIS – Trieste Institute for Social Interventions. Rabab is also featured as a published photographer in the URBAN Awards official catalogue, URBAN Unveils the City and its Secrets – Vol. 10.
