While employed as a marine engineer in the Royal Canadian Navy, I picked up a camera in 2019 before my first deployment and took photos of the cities and landscapes I visited. I knew I wanted to do photography full time. In 2023, I was offered the opportunity to learn from the photography unit at the base. Within a month I was taking photos from a helicopter of our ship's off the coast of Vancouver Island. After submitting my application to change to military photographer, I was accepted in 2024, I deployed again to the Pacific region for Exercise Rim of the Pacific.
