SUZAN MANDLA grew up in Montreal and presently lives in Ottawa, Canada. A former research biologist, she now channels her natural curiosity and eye for detail into photography, her lifelong passion. Suzan's work has been selected for numerous juried group exhibitions in Canada, the USA and Europe, as well as two solo shows in Ottawa. Her fascination with Nature and its ephemeral quality is what fuels the inspiration for her abstract photographs. Suzan’s goal is to create intriguing images that embody that fleetingness, while subtly hinting at their subjects, and express the emotions elicited at the moment of capture. Her main techniques include slow shutter photography and Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), both of which deliberately blur the images, thereby conveying a sense of motion and transience.
