Barrold (Barry Gilbert-Miguet) lives in France and speaks fluent Frenglish. He exhibits when and wherever he can: Annecy (Festival ALP), Annecy-le-Vieux, Arles (Les Rencontres, festival off), Combillaty (Beaujolais), Cognac (Festival Glamour & Elegance), Cormòns, Geneva, Hamburg, Kolkata (World Through Viewfinder), Le Vieil Baugé, Lyon, Paris (PISPA, Galerie Joseph), Pierrevert (Les Nuits de ...), Pézenas (Temps d'Expo), St Julien-en-Genevois (Rencontres Photographiques du Genevois), Strasbourg (Rendez-Vous de l'Image – RDV-I), Trieste (Trieste Photo Days), Villeréal (Festival of Fine Art Nudes) and Vendémian (Festival ISO – winner of public prize). Selections from his street photography have featured in the books: 'Short Street Stories' (under the patronage of Martin Parr), 'Chromantic', Tales of the Unwritten, Urban Animals and 'Urban: Unveils the City and its Secrets'. His work has also been published in magazines, including OPENEYE, Elle, La Suisse and Chasseur d'Images. In 2023, he was awarded a bronze medal for his series Indecisive Moments in the ‘Classic Street Photography' category of the Paris International Street Photo Awards and his image Snow Motion was featured in the Leica Tour 2025 (Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseille). Since March 2020, he has been a member of the editorial team at OPENEYE magazine.
