About Artist
Monica Gumm
I inherited my love of architecture from my father. As a child I often visited construction sites with him, which for me it was the best adventure playground. Light and forms are my great sources of inspiration. After an apprenticeship as an advertising and portrait photographer in my hometown Hamburg, I got a scholarship to study photojournalism in Spain. My heart is still burning for Spain and visual storytelling. I love learning from other people and taking pictures of them in their natural environment. My calling is to be constantly on the move, to create new ideas and to visualize them. In close cooperation with editors and authors I develop stories and image concepts. It is important to me to visualize people and regions authentically and full of joy. Thanks to my long-term cooperation with international publishers and companies, my pictures are published among others in Arte TV, Die Zeit, Dumont Bildatlas, Conde Nast Traveller, Der Spiegel, Dumont Bildatlas, El Pais, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, GEO Saison, Japan Days, Joy, Madame, Marco Polo Reiseführer, Merian, New York Times, Shape, Stern Magazin. As a native of Hamburg (Germany) with an adopted home in Seville (Spain), I combine reliability and joie de vivre.
