About Artist
Patrick Krohn
Patrick Krohn has been around photography almost his whole life. But it was while living in New Zealand during high school in the 1980’s when he picked up a 35mm camera for the first time, and completely fell in love with the medium. He earned a Bachelor of Journalism with a concentration in photojournalism from the University of Missouri – Columbia. His first career was photographing for two newspapers out West – in Utah and Montana. Patrick and his family then moved to Georgia to so he could be the photo editor for The Augusta Chronicle. Seeing the newspaper business shrinking, he went into sales for the next 12 years. Currently he works as a pricing analyst for Hubbell Power Systems here in Aiken, SC. In 2016, Patrick bought his first DSLR, and reacquainted himself with photography. He named his business One-Eyed Dog Studios after their one-eyed rescue dog, Rogue. The bulk of Patrick’s intimate landscape photography is created while commuting to and from his full-time job. Since 2019, he has been exhibiting his work and teaching photo classes at local galleries in Aiken, SC, and Augusta, GA. Recent career highlights for Patrick have been is first place in the international photo contest Natural Landscape Photography Awards in the In Your Backyard category. Being juried into ArtFields in 2025 & 2026. And his interview on the photography podcase “F-Stop, Collaborate and Listen”. His work is exhibited in galleries and in private collections throughout the United States.
