Tim Korostashevsky is an independent documentary photographer working across Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus. His work explores displacement, identity, and the emotional aftermath of political rupture, with a particular focus on migration, loss, and the impossibility of return. Drawing on his Russian-Jewish, Azerbaijani, and Cossack heritage, he approaches these subjects from both personal and cross-cultural perspectives. Working closely with the people he photographs, he builds long-term relationships that allow stories to unfold with intimacy and nuance. Since 2015, Tim has worked as an independent photographer and photojournalist, contributing to international media while developing long-term personal documentary projects. He is a graduate of the International Center of Photography (ICP), where he was a Director’s Fellow in the Documentary Practice and Visual Storytelling program.
