About Artist
Brigitte Bourger
Originally from France, Brigitte Bourger has been living in French Polynesia for 40 years. A pharmacist by profession, for the last few years she has devoted her time to photographing Tahiti while also exploring other water destinations around the world. Her project Ephémères impressions, a series of minimalist photographs from French Polynesia, highlights the fragility of the surrounding marine life. The book of the same name, published in France by Escourbiac, earned the 1st place award at PX3 Paris and Tifa Tokyo. She is currently working on new projects that blend reality and abstraction with a profound sensitivity to the marine world which surrounds her. Her abstract photographs showcase the power and influence that changes in an ecosystem can have on coastal landscapes.
