Coming Home
A rare sighting of a leopard cub waiting for its mother to come back from hunting whilst sitting on a termite mound. The harsh realities of surviving in the wild, make this scene more evocative.

About Artist
Alexandra Wood
A lover of art and wildlife, my passion for photography came about by virtue of the fact that I've been privileged to travel extensively growing up and following me kickstarting my career in London. I love exploring, trying new things, and documenting my experiences along the way. Wildlife photography is more than a passion, it's my way of connecting with nature and advocating for its protection. It's about the quiet moments of observing an animal in its natural habitat, the patience required to witness untamed behaviour, and the responsibility of sharing these moments in a way that fosters respect for the natural world. The best shots have always come through patience and understanding, as opposed to interfering with wildlife. A wildlife lover first, and a photographer second - I strive to capture the former's beauty, resilience and vulnerability. Every image I take is guided by respecting wildlife, minimising disturbance, and showcasing the raw, untamed essence of the wild.
