I was able to photograph this magnificent polar bear in Svalbard . In April there is enough light to photograph . This male was very curious and very fast indeed. I saw him walking and hunting in a wide open valley of sea ice . A powerful symbol of the strength and endurance of the Arctic .

Alex Brackx is an awarded and published Wildlife photographer from Belgium. When he studied to be a nature guide, he began with documentary photography. Amongst his favorite areas are Kenya, Botswana, Svalbard, Scandinavia, Tasmania and Mongolia.
