About Artist
Douglas A Yates
Discovering photography at an early age, I used a Kodak Brownie to make fuzzy B/W photos of petroglyphs near my family’s home in southwest Idaho. Later, in the U.S. Marine Corps, I was trained to photo-document operations in S.E Asia. For reasons that remain a mystery, I was assigned to HQ Marine Corps and worked at the Naval Photographic Center. Today, after a career in and out of commercial photography, I watch water freeze from a perch in the boreal forest a few miles south of Fairbanks, Alaska.
