Alejandra Nowiczewski (mostly known as Alex) was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Besides being a photographer, she has a degree in English-Spanish translation from Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) and a master’s degree in translation from Universidad de Belgrano.
She studied photography at Inés Miguens’s Photo School (2019-2021). During this time, she also completed several workshops, including Creative Use of Natural Light and Ansel Adams Zone System, both by Ossian Lindholm at Sergio Massaro’s Escuela Fotonaturaleza (2021), and training courses with photographer Mario Passera (2020). She also took a workshop on Writing about your Artwork, taught by writer and art critic Laura Casanovas (2022).
Alex is currently attending digital editing and extension courses at Diego Ortiz Mugica’s School of Photography.
Her work is focused on exploring natural and urban landscapes, either individually or combined, as well as documenting issues such as climate change, biodiversity and sustainability. In addition, and in the context of contemporary photography, her work intends to delve into the ability of photography to suggest something other than itself, to serve as a channel for visual metaphor and personal expression.
She has exhibited her work in collective exhibitions, including:
-La Boca, Inés Miguens’s Photo School exhibition, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2019)
-Metaphors of Space, BAPhoto 2021, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2021)
-Metaphors of Space, Cruce de Fronteras, Galería Nueva, Madrid, Spain (2022)
-The Koan, Pinta BAphoto 2022, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2022)
