About Artist

Diane Girard

I am a self-taught artist who uses photography to create abstract works. I mostly use creative intentional motion blur where my own movements while taking the picture produce the abstraction. Instinct, light, and colors guide me while I literally dance around my subjects, reinventing and reshaping them into bold and dynamic shapes. In other cases, I seek to immortalize brief moments in time of subjects in motion, waiting until the light and their movements inspire me. This allows the discovery and appreciation of shapes and colors generally invisible to us. After many years of a career in the corporate world and higher education, which kept me bound to the rational part of my being, I am now enjoying seeing the world through abstract tinted glasses, discovering a passion for shapes, movement and colors of all kinds.
