Derek Ronald has dabbled in photography for over a decade, building off the earlier seed of his grandfather’s cursory interest in the medium. Although he does not have an academic background in art or photography, he is an avid learner who is always looking to sharpen his skills and discover new techniques. Derek believes that his varied life experiences culminate in the instance of artistic creation; they build off of each other and influence the final work produced. He uses photography to approximate reality, reflect his values, challenge the viewer’s beliefs, and suspend moments.
