Hello, I’m Fer!
I’m a self-taught wildlife and bird photographer based in Costa Rica. My journey into photography began in childhood, inspired by the vibrant biodiversity that surrounded me. However, life took me down a different path — I spent years immersed in medicine, training as a physician. During that time, my camera rested, but the dream never disappeared.
Now I’m returning to that long-paused passion with renewed purpose. Photography has become a way to reconnect with the natural world and with myself — to slow down, observe, and appreciate the details that are often overlooked. Birding, in particular, has been a source of joy and healing. It’s not just about the sightings, but about the search: the quiet patience it requires, the immersion in wild spaces, and the deep sense of presence it brings.
Through my lens, I aim to capture those fleeting moments when nature reveals itself — a flash of color in the canopy, the stillness of a perched bird, the softness of rain on feathers. These are the scenes that move me, and I hope they inspire others to look more closely at the living world around them.
