Tianhe Zhang is a multi-disciplinary photographer who is currently based in Beijing, China. Growing up amidst the tranquil landscapes at the base of suburban mountains, she has developed a profound affinity for the natural world and the subtle details that define domestic and wild environments. Additionally, her background in product design influenced her work to explore the intersection of geometric order and the ephemeral beauty of the everyday, resulting in a signature style that is both calm and calculated. Tianhe’s compositions are marked by a distinct restraint, finding stillness within structured frameworks. An almost fateful encounter with a Polaroid camera in a UK charity shop marked a pivotal shift in her creative journey. Today, the Polaroid camera remains her essential tool for documenting the fragile and the fleeting—those precious, transient moments that are easily lost to time. Through a combination of technical precision and emotional resonance, Tianhe invites the viewer to find permanence in the passing.
