Bio

Nina Nelson is a multi-disciplinary visual artist who uses cinematic lighting and a vintage aesthetic to explore the quiet, often overlooked transitions of the human experience. Drawing on her professional background as a model, actress, and published novelist, she approaches the frame with an intuitive understanding of performance and narrative construction, treating every photograph like a "narrative fragment"—a single frame from a story already in motion. Nelson’s photography has been featured in prominent juried exhibitions across the U.S., including the Griffin Museum of Photography, the Fairfield Museum, and Soho Photo Gallery in New York City. Her work has received international recognition from the International Photography Awards (IPA), AAP Magazine, and the Faber Birren International Color Show. Locally, she is a frequent top-prize winner at the Rowayton Arts Center and Carriage Barn Arts Center, where she has received multiple Best in Show and First Place honors.
