Bio

Nika Belianina is an award-winning multi-hyphenate: writer/director, camerawoman and a photographer residing in Toronto. In photography, she likes to explore the themes of escapism and longing. Genuinely inspired and often working with nature, her poetic photographs have elements of magical realism and movement, creating unique emotions. Nika participated and juried international artist residencies in Mexico, Peru and the USA and her work hung at over 30 exhibitions across three continents. Belianina's films have played around the world and at numerous film festivals, such as Tribeca, Fantasporto and Sheffield. Belianina makes fiction and documentary films and music videos. Nika is a member of the Director Guild of Canada and has shot projects in Kenya, Romania, Georgia, Peru and Canada for the likes of the BBC2, Ruptly.TV, WAM Media and Federal Government of Canada.
