Bio

May C./May Caiwei Chen (1998) is a graphic designer, visual art experimentalist and dreamology maniac graduated from BFA Graphic Design at ArtCenter College of Design and MFA Art and Technology program at CalArts. She is passionate about telling stories through communicative and interactive visuals and sounds via various practices including motion graphics, brand identity systems, photography, illustration, AI/ML, projection mapping and interactive installation. Whether in the field of art or design, her work often explores the concept of dreams and how they work as portraits of human emotions, memories and identities, by questioning the distinction between “actuality” and “virtuality”, and exploring how a dream could be reinvestigated and rebuilt as an illusional sensory experience.
