Bio

Lorraine Turci lives and works in Nantes, France. As a documentary photographer and visual artist, her work revolves around the complex relationship between human beings and their territory. Graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Nantes and the University of Paris 8, she first worked several years in Canada in photo post-production, then as a cruise photographer, before definitively committing herself to an authorial approach. Independent since 2019, she is a member of Hans Lucas and regularly collaborates with the press and NGOs. Her work has been exhibited in France and abroad, notably at the Visa pour l'Image festival in Perpignan, the Nuit blanche in Montreal, the Norway Nordic Light festival and the Warsaw Photo Days. In 2022, she is leading the project « Avis de tempête » about the maritime world as part of the national photographic commission "Radioscopie de la France", initiated by the French Ministry of Culture and the French National Library. At the beginning of 2023, she will develop the project « La résilience du corbeau », financed by the « Brouillon d'un rêve » grant from the Scam.
