Juleah Claar (Leah) is an American photographer based in Switzerland, working in both film and digital. With a background in anthropology and a decade in the corporate world, she returned to photography in 2016, bringing a unique perspective to her work. Her photography explores street scenes, nature, and cultural traditions, capturing raw human moments with creative storytelling and fusion techniques. Awarded, published, and exhibited internationally, her work has appeared on a Times Square billboard, in galleries, magazines and books, and across more than 190 gallery, tourism, and social media platforms. In 2025, she launched the #ClaarRawEdit challenge, an Instagram-based collaborative project inviting photographers to reinterpret her images. Her work continues to explore everyday life through an anthropological lens, blending observation, art, and cultural insight. Artist Statement: Photography, for me, is about seeing the extraordinary in the everyday. Whether in the streets, in nature, or during cultural moments, I seek to capture authentic human experiences and fleeting details. I work in both film and digital, often experimenting with fusion techniques to bring fresh perspectives to familiar scenes. My approach blends anthropological insight with artistic vision, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and see the world differently—transforming everyday life into art.
