Bio
Felicitas Schwenzer is an education and psychology student and lives in Hamburg, Germany. Shortly after her first steps in digital photography in 2019, she switched to analogue medium format and found it to be the best practice to achieve the artistic expression she seeks to attain. From the very beginning, she developed an interest in human body shapes and nude photography. A body offers unlimited perspectives, variations and abstractions. For her, depicting a nude body is one of the most timeless, intimate, honest and pure forms of photography. She often creates her compositions with more than one person - the mirroring of movements and the amplification of forms intensifies the representation and creates a sometimes even strange beauty. The models in her photographs are often photographers, actors or artists themselves. For most of her shoots, Feli prepares certain ideas and concepts that she wants to realise in a trusting and safe environment. Artists are usually free and curious to engage in such an endeavour, which also allows for challenging compositions to succeed. In her photographs, she wants to create a desexualisation of the female body in particular and show it both as a work of art and as a means of emotional expression.
