Animal Art and Photography by Debby Thomas A horse trainer/instructor for 30years, Debby now uses her intuitive sense for animals to emotionally connect you with their world with her artwork and photographic images. She works in pencil and colored pencil, as well as oils and acrylics. Debby’s artwork is in private collections in the U. S. and Europe and has won numerous awards in National Juried exhibits and shows, including a First Place in “Artists Magazine” competition and “Best Terrier” in the prestigious Art Show at the Dog Show. Her pencil and colored pencil work was chosen for the American Academy of Equine Artists shows at the International Museum of the Horse in Lexington, Kentucky and the cover of “The Chronicle of the Horse”. Her drawings were chosen for the books “Strokes of Genius, The Best of Drawing” and “Animal Art Journeys”. Her photographic work has been featured in “Horses in Art” magazine, displayed at the AKC Museum of The Dog in St. Louis and has been purchased for use by the National Wildlife Refuge system. She has received many awards in juried competitions including several First Place awards and ‘Best of Shows’ in the International Equine Photographer’s Network’s competitions. Her images are included in the books “The Best of Virginia”, “The Best of America, Photography” and “For the Love of the Sport”, as well as numerous magazines and calendars.
