Bio

My name is Daniel Mittermeier and I am from Munich, Germany. I grew up in a family of visual artists, studied Graphic Design and Photography and owned a graphic design agency for more than 30 years. When I turned 50, I shifted completely towards street photography as my visual art theme, gave up my agency to follow my passion of taking pictures. Photography bacame an urge, an ediction and a part of my life. I see the world in pictures and without camera I feel naked and don’t know what to do. Photography is my way to capture the moments of my life, my expression of art and the essence of being. Photography is like painting for me. I get inspired by a scene, develop my vision of it and then create a capture of the image I had in mind. The joy, if such a picture develops and can be captured is priceless and gives me the energy to go on. As I love to meet likeminded people, I founded the photoschool “Blendenschule”, which means “School of Aperture”, but is also a word game with the word “Blindenschule”, a school for blind people. So what I do is to teach how to see in photography as well as the technics of photography.
