Bio
Chris is a DC-based visual journalist and artist working at the intersection of conservation and environmental justice. His work deals with themes of connection, identity, and dissolution, with a particular interest in natural resource commodification in rural communities. His work is driven by a love for wild places shaped by a childhood growing up in rural New Hampshire. Walking barefoot among the trees, fishing in the river, and disappearing into the mountains fostered a need to find understanding with species that are forgotten, maligned, and to tell stories of connection and dissonance between the natural environment and people. He is currently pursuing an MA in New Media Photojournalism at The Corcoran School of Art at George Washington University.
